Space Ship go Boom Boom

What to do when the Party has too much cool stuff.

Bryce : hi

habnabitmkiii : Hi.

Bryce : We had our game today (the one I gm). It was pretty good. I blew up the party's spaceship, and most of their stuff. Muahahah.

habnabitmkiii : Nice.

Bryce : They were mad at me until they discovered that they had, in landing on the docking pad with the bomb, saved the life of a rich and grateful guy. He took them to his mansion, bought them a new ship (to be delivered in a few days), gave them money, and paid their hospital bills. After dinner, he had a little chat with the party in which he revealed that he was "Antoine Pelt, Lord Heir of Shades and legitimate leader of the Ancient Order of the Empress" (AOE, the guys they had been fighting for most of the campaign.)

He turned out to be sort of friendly regardless and attributed the combat his people had done with the players to "various grave misunderstandings", and was about to explain why he'd told this to them when his butler, a powerful psionist, burst in and announced a unilaterally-decided change in the AOE's leadership. Antoine ate a bolt-of-death from the psionist, who ran off with most of the rebel AOE soldiers to get "the clone" which had previously be alluded to. Antoine died, giving a brief last-words speech in which he tried to tell the players something really important but died.

When I was doing his little speech, I actually started coughing and the players took it for part of the act. That worked out as a nice touch but now I am concerned that I could choke to death without them realizing it :/

habnabitmkiii : Haha!

Bryce : Yeah, so I'm not eating their snacks now, just in case :) Anyway, as per Antoine Pelt's dying wish, they fled his mansion with his daughter, Olivia.

It was at this point that Josh, had a flash of insight . He somehow realized that Olivia Pelt (who claimed to be adopted) was in fact the clone of the empress Miho I. I don't know how he figured it out so amazingly... I had dropped a few very subtle hints by alluding to a clone of Miho in Pelt's dialouge, but that was bascially it. (I had some of the players thinking she was an android for some reason... that culminated in one poking her in the head and asking what sound he heard....)

So, anyway, his character (successful knowledge check) knew what the empress looked like from history books, and now realized an uncanny resemblance between Miho I Pangalactic Empress and Olivia Pelt. He is convinced she is a clone of Miho. Which is true. He passed this theory on to several others in the party as they were escaping pursuit by Paddur the psionist and his men, but they're apparently sufficently conditioned to Josh emitting nonsense that, ironically, he has so far been mostly ignored.

Anyway, the party is now in a battle with Paddur's forces with a river between them and freedom. It's going to be interesting :D

habnabitmkiii : Hm.

Bryce : Yes?

habnabitmkiii : Nothing.

Bryce : Oh. Anyway, I'm wondering how Captain Idiot (whom I shall now refer to as Josh because that is is name, and he has been acting far less Idioted lately) is going to convince the others that his perceptions are accurate. His character also seems to like Olivia. Another player character keeps yelling "Kiss her!" every time they're together though. It's getting kinda annoying.

habnabitmkiii : Haha.

Bryce : Seriously one time he yelled it from a balcony about eleven meters away when Olivia and Josh's character were standing talking. Awkward.
