Telephone

Phone: (US) 530-763-3064

For high-priority communications, you can try calling me. This number rings all my phones, so if you have other phone numbers for me, it's best to switch to the one above. (Unless you need to send SMS.) Note that I do not use voicemail - if you don't get ahold of me, please just send an SMS or, better yet, an email.

Note: I do not answer calls with blocked caller ID. In North America the prefix code that unblocks caller ID for one call is *82.

Email

Email: bryce.schroeder@gmail.com

You can email me Here. I have an Android phone so I'll probably get your email quickly even if I'm away, but I hate typing on the tiny keyboard so don't count on getting an immediate reply to not obviously urgent inquires.

Email: bryce.schroeder@downstate.edu

If you like, you can also email me at my work email for related subjects. However, I don't check it as often as my personal email and it doesn't go to my phone, so please reserve the use of this for work-related communications.

Email: bryce@gnosticinstruments.com

For engaging my consultancy and matters related to my open source projects.

My prior email addresses include: bschroed@jps.net (ca. 1996), mewtwo@jps.net (ca. 1998, N.B. I was 11 years old...), bryce@lanset.com (until 2007), evnova@hotpop.com and pfhelp@hotpop.com (ca. 2004), bryce.schroeder@va.gov (2018), bryce.schroeder@nih.gov (2009, 2011-2012), and bryce.schroeder@stonybrook.edu (2012-2023). These addresses are included here for the benefit of searchers trying to find me, and all are now defunct. Please don't send mail to them; I won't get it.

Instant Messaging

Gmail chat, or Facebook chat
If you catch me online, feel free to instant message me. If we've never talked before, expect to be asked strange but obvious questions intended to identify IM spambots. I can meet on Discord, IRC, Zoom or Teams by prior arrangement.

(Postal) Mail

1315 Hallock Ave, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776

You can send me mail via the United States Postal Service if you wish. This is very slow, but mail is rarely lost and if I do get it I'll almost certainly read it, unless your mail looks like spam: if your letter meets any of the following criteria, and the sender is not an entity with which I have a personal or business relationship, it will be discarded without being opened.

(Of course, the foregoing is really just a suggestion to the reader about how to avoid junk mail :) )

I previously had a post office box, no. 235 in Setauket, 11733. I no longer have this PO box since my address can be obtained from property records now that I am no longer renting, and it accordingly would no longer provide privacy. Also, it seemed to get more bulk mail than my home address...

Facebook

I have a Facebook account, and while since the demise of Google Plus I do check it on a daily basis, it's probably not the best way to get ahold of me promptly. Still, you're welcome to try if you want.
