This is very slow, but mail is rarely lost and if I do get it I'll almost certainly read it, unless your mail looks like spam: if your letter meets any of the following criteria, and the sender is not an entity with which I have a personal or business relationship, it will be discarded without being opened.
- Sent as presorted mail - unless the sender is clearly identified and of interest to me. (Very high sensitivity and specificity for junk mail.)
- Simulated handwriting or stamps on the envelope.
- Use of the word "official" or simulation of tax-related mailings without identifying a government entity as the sender.
- Perforated non-envelope mailings of the type used to send forms and checks.
- Not listing an identifiable sender.
- Use of "urgent," "limited time offer," or similar language.
- Use of the phrase "check enclosed," or similar language.
I previously had a post office box, no. 235 in Setauket, 11733. I no longer have this PO box since my address can be obtained from property records now that I am no longer renting, and it accordingly would no longer provide privacy. Also, it seemed to get more bulk mail than my home address...
I have a Facebook account, and while since the demise of Google Plus I do check it on a daily basis, it's probably not the best way to get ahold of me promptly. Still, you're welcome to try if you want.
